KENNETT SQUARE, PA — A 16-year-old male has been charged following an investigation into a reported cell phone theft in Kennett Square.
According to the Kennett Square Police Department, officers responded to a call on May 6, 2025, at approximately 9:30 a.m. regarding the theft of a cell phone from the 100 block of East South Street. Upon reviewing surveillance footage, investigators observed a male juvenile discarding the stolen phone in a trash can.
The investigation led to charges being filed against the juvenile, which include theft by unlawful taking or disposition, receiving stolen property, and disorderly conduct. These charges were submitted to the Chester County Juvenile Probation Office as part of a juvenile allegation.
The identity of the juvenile has not been released due to their age. Authorities emphasized the importance of protecting the privacy of minors involved in legal matters.
All allegations remain accusations, and the juvenile is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
