HARRISBURG, PA — A Luzerne County jury has convicted a Shenandoah man of assaulting a dancer during private sessions at a gentlemen’s club in May 2022, concluding a three-day trial that centered on the victim’s repeated refusals and subsequent medical evidence.
Jurors found 40-year-old Miguel Antonio Nunez guilty of aggravated indecent assault and indecent assault on Wednesday afternoon. His bail was immediately revoked, and he was remanded to prison while awaiting sentencing on April 2.
According to testimony presented in court, Nunez paid for private dances with the victim, then assaulted her despite her clearly and repeatedly telling him no. A subsequent examination confirmed the assault and helped identify Nunez as the attacker.
Attorney General Dave Sunday said the verdict reflects the seriousness of the conduct at issue. “The facts in this case show that the defendant did not have the victim’s consent to do what he did — that is assault, regardless of the setting,” Sunday said. He commended the victim for stepping forward and participating in the prosecution.
Deputy Attorney General Rachael Coleman handled the case for the Commonwealth.
