Investigation Underway After Robbery of Autistic Man in Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA, PA — Authorities are investigating an alleged strong-arm robbery involving an autistic man in Philadelphia and are requesting assistance from the public to identify two suspects.

The incident occurred on January 24, 2025, at approximately 7:15 a.m., near a bus stop on 240 W. Chelten Avenue. According to police reports, the victim informed officers that he was approached by a man and a woman while waiting for his bus. The male suspect engaged him in conversation and allegedly instructed him to withdraw money from a nearby ATM.

The victim, alongside the suspects, entered a local store, where he withdrew $200. Police state that the male suspect then took the money, and upon exiting the store, also seized the victim’s wallet. Both suspects were last seen boarding a SEPTA #26 bus.

The male suspect is described as Black with a medium build, wearing a red jacket and black pants. The female suspect is described as Black with a medium build, wearing a black coat.
