WILMINGTON, DE — Wilmington Police have charged a 46-year-old woman with multiple gun and drug offenses after an investigation into alleged narcotics activity led officers to recover firearms and controlled substances earlier this month.
According to the department, members of the Drug, Organized Crime, and Vice Division began an investigation in November focused on suspected illegal drug sales in the 200 block of South Vanburen Street. As part of that inquiry, officers conducted a vehicle stop on November 19 at approximately 10:25 a.m. in the 800 block of North Vanburen Street.
During the stop, police took Crystal Walden, 46, into custody without incident. Following her arrest, officers executed a search warrant at a residence in the 200 block of South Vanburen Street. Investigators report recovering two loaded .380-caliber handguns and twelve MDMA pills during the search.
Walden has been charged with six counts of possession of a firearm or ammunition by a person prohibited, as well as possession of a controlled substance. She was arraigned in the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas and released on $17,900 secured bail.
Police emphasize that all charges are allegations, and any suspect, arrestee, or defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
