WEST CHESTER, PA — A Chester County man has been arrested and charged after law enforcement reportedly discovered numerous improvised explosive devices (IEDs) at a residence in East Whiteland Township. Authorities have identified the suspect as Kevin Krebs, 31, of Malvern, Pennsylvania.
On June 14, 2025, the West Chester Borough Police Department received a report of an individual allegedly carrying a firearm while heading toward a rally on North High Street. Responding officers conducted a pedestrian stop and, following a search, located a firearm concealed under layers of clothing. Authorities stated that Krebs did not have a permit to carry a concealed weapon. He was subsequently charged with carrying a firearm without a license and arraigned on June 15 under bail conditions requiring the surrender of all firearms.
On June 16, investigators executed search warrants at a residence in the 100 block of Conestoga Road, East Whiteland Township. During the search, detectives allegedly uncovered an improvised explosive device and contacted the Montgomery County Bomb Disposal Unit to render it safe. Further investigation reportedly yielded a total of 13 IEDs, sketches of explosive devices, tactical vests, and other materials.
The Chester County District Attorney’s Office confirmed that all devices were safely neutralized without injury. Krebs is currently being held without bail.
The investigation remains active and ongoing, with assistance provided by the Chester County Detectives, West Chester Borough Police Department, East Whiteland Township Police Department, the Montgomery County Bomb Disposal Unit, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
