NEWARK, DE — A Friday night disturbance in a Newark hotel parking lot resulted in the arrest of a Connecticut woman after she allegedly pointed a rifle at three juveniles who were playing nearby, according to the Delaware State Police.
Troopers responded at approximately 8:00 p.m. on December 5 to the Hilton at 100 Continental Drive after receiving a report of an armed confrontation. Investigators say the juveniles were tossing a football in the parking lot when a woman inside a paratransit van displayed what appeared to be a firearm in their direction. The teens fled, and no injuries were reported.
Police located the van in a nearby lot and took the woman, identified as 50-year-old Rachel Dinorscia, into custody without incident. A subsequent search of the vehicle uncovered a long rifle believed to have been used in the encounter, as well as a second rifle and two handguns.
Dinorscia was transported to Troop 6, where she was charged with possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony, three counts of aggravated menacing, and carrying a concealed deadly weapon. She was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution on a $23,500 secured bond.
All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
