NEWARK, DE — Authorities are searching for two armed suspects following a home invasion in Newark late Monday night, during which a resident was bound and his home ransacked, according to the Delaware State Police.
Troopers responded to a residence on Salem Church Road around 10:15 p.m. on July 28, 2025, after receiving a report of an armed break-in. Preliminary findings indicate that two unidentified male suspects, both armed with firearms, entered the home and confronted the victim in the family room.
The intruders allegedly demanded property and questioned the victim about an unidentified male individual. During the encounter, the victim’s hands were tied, and the suspects reportedly searched through his room before fleeing with an undisclosed amount of money and valuables.
Police say the victim was not physically harmed during the incident. The suspects are described only as Black males wearing dark-colored clothing. No surveillance footage has been made available at this time.
The Delaware State Police Troop 2 Robbery Unit is actively investigating the case. Authorities are urging anyone with information to contact Detective J. Dempsey at (302) 365-8472. Tips may also be submitted anonymously to Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-847-3333.
As the investigation continues, it is important to note that all individuals suspected of crimes are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
