WILMINGTON, DE — Two people are facing weapons charges after New Castle County police say a high-speed traffic stop in Edgemoor on Wednesday evening led to the discovery of two loaded handguns inside their vehicle.
According to the New Castle County Division of Police, the incident occurred on August 13, 2025, at approximately 6:50 p.m., when detectives from the department’s Active Crime Trend (ACT) Team observed a red Nissan Sentra traveling at a high rate of speed along Governor Printz Boulevard. Police say the driver committed multiple traffic violations before detectives stopped the vehicle in the 1200 block of Prospect Drive.
The driver, identified as Bre’yanah Coleman-Davis, 28, of Wilmington, and passenger Wanya Wray, 29, of Philadelphia, were taken into custody after officers allegedly recovered a loaded Smith & Wesson handgun and a loaded Taurus G3 9mm from inside the car.
Coleman-Davis has been charged with carrying a concealed deadly weapon, driving while suspended or revoked, driving at an unreasonable speed, unsafe passing on the left, and failure to stop at a red light. She was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution on $5,503 cash bail.
Wray faces charges of carrying a concealed deadly weapon, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possessing or consuming a prescription drug not classified as a controlled substance without a prescription. He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $5,200 cash bail.
