NEWARK, DE — Authorities are investigating the tragic circumstances surrounding the alleged disappearance and death of three-year-old Nola, following a kidnapping report later deemed to be fabricated.

On Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at approximately 7:15 p.m., patrol officers from the New Castle County Division of Police responded to the 500 block of Gender Road after receiving a report of a kidnapping. According to police, 31-year-old Darrian Randle, Nola’s mother, claimed an armed man had approached her car and abducted her daughter while a second individual waited in a dark-colored SUV. An Amber Alert was promptly issued for Nola.

After an overnight investigation involving the New Castle County Division of Police Criminal Investigations Unit and the FBI, detectives determined that Randle’s accounts were false. The Amber Alert was subsequently canceled, and the case has now been classified as a homicide. The Maryland State Police have since taken over the investigation.

Randle, who was being interviewed at the New Castle County Police Headquarters, has been charged with one felony count of falsely reporting an incident. She was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution with bail set at $1,000,000 cash.

The investigation remains active, with collaboration between the New Castle County Division of Police and the Maryland State Police. All charges against Randle are allegations, and she is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
