Heartbreaking Accident Leaves 3-Year-Old Boy Fighting to Recover

PHILADELPHIA, PA — Authorities are seeking the public’s help in identifying two vehicles involved in a hit-and-run incident that injured a 3-year-old boy on the evening of June 5, 2025.

According to the Philadelphia Police Department’s Crash Investigation Division, the incident occurred around 9:00 p.m. at the intersection of 33rd Street and Susquehanna Avenue. The young child reportedly ran into the street as he was being placed into his family’s car and was struck by an SUV. A white pickup truck may also have struck the child. Both vehicles fled the scene without stopping to render aid.

Police officers transported the boy to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, where he was treated for injuries and later released.

Investigators have released an image of the suspected SUV, which was last seen near 32nd and Diamond Streets. They are urging anyone who has information about either vehicle or the crash to come forward.
