Gunpoint Robbery During Online Sale Leaves Victim Shaken

CLAYMONT, DE — Delaware State Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred Monday evening during an arranged online sale meeting, authorities said.

According to Delaware State Police, troopers responded at approximately 7:45 p.m. March 30, 2026, to the parking lot of the Town & Country Shopping Center in the 0 block of Harvey Road for a reported robbery.

Investigators said a 36-year-old Pennsylvania man had arranged to sell an item online and met a potential buyer at the location.

Police reported that during the meeting, the buyer allegedly displayed a firearm, and a second suspect also became involved and allegedly displayed a gun.

According to investigators, the suspects then allegedly ransacked the victim’s vehicle and stole personal belongings before fleeing the area prior to police arrival.

Authorities said the victim was not injured and contacted 911.

Police described the suspects as Black males wearing dark-colored clothing.

The Delaware State Police Troop 2 Criminal Investigations Unit is continuing to investigate.
