CLAYMONT, DE — Delaware State Police are investigating an alleged armed robbery that unfolded Wednesday morning at a neighborhood pharmacy, rattling customers and employees just days before the Christmas holiday.
According to state police, troopers were dispatched at approximately 9:50 a.m. on December 24 to Darley Pharmacy, located at 111 Darley Road, after receiving reports of a robbery in progress. Investigators allege that an unknown white male entered the business, displayed a handgun, and demanded cash from the register.
Police said an employee complied with the demand. During the encounter, the suspect also allegedly confronted a customer inside the pharmacy and demanded that individual’s property. Authorities said the customer complied, and the suspect then fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash and property.
No injuries were reported, and police said no shots were fired during the incident.
The Delaware State Police Troop 2 Robbery Unit has assumed responsibility for the investigation and is working to identify and locate the suspect. No description beyond the suspect’s race and gender was immediately released.
Authorities emphasized that the investigation remains active and that details may evolve as additional information is gathered.
