BEAR, DENew Castle County Police arrested two Bear residents following an alleged shooting incident that unfolded late Tuesday night in the Becks Woods community.

According to police, patrol officers were dispatched at approximately 10:44 p.m. on November 25 after multiple callers reported gunshots near Becks Woods Drive and Mahon Lane. Witnesses told dispatchers that a white Dodge Durango and a dark-colored sedan appeared to be involved before leaving the area.

Responding officers located spent shell casings in the roadway. As they canvassed the neighborhood, officers observed a white Dodge Durango rapidly backing into a garage on Mahopac Drive. Officers attempted to speak with the occupants, but the garage door was closed, and efforts to establish contact were unsuccessful.

While officers were on scene, a victim called 911 from another location to report that their vehicle had been struck by gunfire while driving through Becks Woods. The victim provided a description of the suspect seen driving the Durango and said the gunfire prompted them to flee the area and seek safety before contacting police.
