Gunfire on Sheldon Street: Police Hunt Braided Suspect After Daylight Shooting

PHILADELPHIA, PA — Detectives are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a man wanted in connection with a shooting that occurred Wednesday afternoon in the city’s Logan neighborhood.

According to the Philadelphia Police Department’s Northwest Detective Division, the incident happened at approximately 3:30 p.m. on September 17, 2025, in the 200 block of Sheldon Street. Investigators said a Black male suspect was observed firing at an occupied vehicle.

Surveillance video reviewed by police shows the man conversing with occupants of a white vehicle before suddenly opening fire. Authorities said the vehicle fled the scene, while the suspect ran south on 3rd Street and east on Lindley Avenue.

The suspect is described as having a slim build with long braids, wearing a black hooded jacket, dark pants, and white sneakers.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact the Northwest Detective Division at 215-686-3353.

Authorities emphasized that the investigation is ongoing and that any suspect identified is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
