Gunfire Erupts in Wilmington Afternoon Shooting, Police Launch Investigation

WILMINGTON, DE — Authorities are investigating a shooting that occurred Thursday afternoon in the city’s West Side, leaving one man hospitalized.

According to Wilmington Police, officers responded at approximately 1:57 p.m. on September 18 to the area of West 2nd and North DuPont Streets. A 24-year-old male victim was later located after arriving at a hospital with gunshot wounds. Police said he was listed in stable condition.

Detectives continue to investigate the circumstances of the shooting, and officials said additional information will be released when available.

Authorities emphasized that any suspect identified in connection with this case would be presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
