WYOMISSING, PA — Wyomissing police responded to a wide range of incidents throughout the borough on Tuesday, including reports involving a firearm, alleged attempted burglary, fraud complaints, and multiple traffic- and safety-related calls, according to a department incident log released this week.

Police records show officers were dispatched shortly before 7:45 a.m. to the area of Route 222 and State Hill Road following a report from a complainant who alleged that another driver pointed a handgun during a reckless driving encounter. Officers responded, gathered information, and continued the investigation. No arrests were reported in connection with that incident.

Earlier in the day, officers conducted a traffic stop on Hill Avenue after observing an alleged traffic signal violation. The driver was issued a citation, and the incident was closed without further enforcement action.

Throughout the afternoon, police handled several additional calls, including reports of alleged fraud and identity theft on Crossing Drive and Delaware Avenue, a non-reportable motor vehicle accident on Park Road South near Penn Avenue, and complaints involving reckless driving, disabled vehicles, and 911 hang-up calls across multiple districts.

Later in the evening, officers responded to Regency Drive for a reported attempted burglary. Police said the complainant found a door open upon arriving at the property. Officers cleared the location, and the complainant reported that nothing appeared to be disturbed or missing. The matter remains under investigation.

Police also assisted the West Reading Police Department with identifying a vehicle that allegedly fled from a traffic stop and responded to a property damage report late in the evening involving a damaged vehicle in a retail parking lot, where no theft was reported.
