Office of the Attorney General

HARRISBURG, PA — State agents executed three search warrants in Allegheny County in mid-March, seizing multiple firearms and filing charges against several individuals, including two juveniles, the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office said.

According to investigators, the warrants were carried out March 18 and March 19 by the Allegheny County Gun Violence Task Force and partner agencies, ahead of the upcoming NFL Draft in Pittsburgh.

On Etna Street in McKees Rocks, agents and local police executed a warrant Tuesday after authorities said a juvenile had allegedly posted photos on social media with multiple firearms.

Officials said they recovered three firearms, including one reported stolen, along with magazines, ammunition, marijuana, and Ecstasy pills. Two juvenile males were charged in connection with the investigation.

On Dorothy Drive in Rankin, agents executed a separate warrant March 19 with assistance from Allegheny County and Monroeville police.

Authorities said a Glock 9mm pistol, along with magazines and ammunition, was seized. Jailen D. Mitchell, 19, was charged.

On Greenbush Street in Pittsburgh’s Mount Washington neighborhood, agents and Pittsburgh police executed a warrant March 18.

Investigators reported recovering two pistols, including one reported stolen, along with a laser attachment. Daonte King, 18, who police said had an outstanding warrant, was charged. His mother, Shantese Skrine, was also taken into custody on a felony warrant and charged in connection with items found during the search.

Attorney General Dave Sunday said the enforcement actions were part of broader efforts to address gun violence in western Pennsylvania ahead of large public events.

“With the NFL Draft on the horizon … we have collaborated with partners … to remove dozens of firearms and dangerous offenders,” Sunday said.

Authorities said the recent operations are part of ongoing enforcement efforts across Allegheny, Fayette, Somerset, and Westmoreland counties that have resulted in the seizure of more than 50 firearms and multiple arrests in 2026.

The cases will be prosecuted by the Allegheny County District Attorney’s Office.

All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
