PHILADELPHIA, PA — Philadelphia police are searching for a suspect after an alleged armed confrontation inside a popular South Street jewelry store last month left employees shaken and investigators racing to identify the person responsible.
According to the Philadelphia Police Department, the incident occurred at approximately 7:00 p.m. on December 11, 2025, at a jewelry store located at 426 South Street. Surveillance video reviewed by investigators shows a suspect arriving in a gray Jeep Grand Cherokee, exiting the vehicle, and entering the store.
Police allege the suspect approached the counter and became involved in a dispute with an employee over a piece of jewelry. During the confrontation, investigators say the individual produced a handgun, pointed it at the employee’s head, and made verbal threats. Moments later, the suspect exited the store and fled the area in the same gray Jeep Grand Cherokee.
No injuries were reported, and authorities have not released additional details about the suspect or what prompted the dispute. The case remains under active investigation by the department’s South Detective Division.
