BEAR, DE — Delaware State Police have arrested Danielle Marshall, 48, of Tampa, Florida, following an alleged identity theft attempt at a Citizens Bank branch in Bear on Friday morning.
According to investigators, troopers were dispatched at approximately 11:00 a.m. on November 28 to the Citizens Bank located at 146 Fox Hunt Drive after staff reported an active fraud in progress. Employees told police that a woman had attempted to use a fraudulent New Jersey driver’s license and a bank card belonging to an account holder in an effort to change that customer’s account information.
Police said the driver’s license displayed Marshall’s photograph but contained another person’s legitimate identifying details. Bank staff recognized the woman’s description after being alerted that she had attempted a similar transaction earlier that day at another Citizens Bank location, though staff there had declined the request.
Troopers arrived as the woman was leaving the area and took her into custody. She was later identified as Marshall.
Marshall was transported to Troop 2, where she was charged with felony identity theft. She was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution on a $10,000.00 secured bond.
Authorities emphasized that the charge remains an allegation, and Marshall is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
