KENNETT SQUARE, PA — Police have issued an arrest warrant for a Florida man accused of attempting to cash fraudulent checks totaling approximately $10,000, authorities said.
According to Kennett Square Police, officers were dispatched on December 22, 2025, at approximately 4:03 p.m. to a business in the 600 block of West Cypress Street for a report of fraudulent checks.
Investigators said the checks were allegedly used in attempts to obtain funds at two separate financial institutions in Florida.
Through further investigation, including the execution of search warrants at the financial institutions, police reported that surveillance footage identified 51-year-old Harly Busse of Tampa, Florida, as the individual allegedly attempting to cash the checks.
Authorities said District Court 15-3-04 issued an arrest warrant for Busse on March 17.
Busse has been charged with theft by deception, forgery, access device fraud, tampering with records or identification, and bad checks, according to police. The warrant remains active.
All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
