WEST CHESTER, PA — The Chester County District Attorney’s Office, in partnership with the City of Coatesville Police Department, announced charges against five individuals in connection with the fatal stabbing of Alex Camacho on June 29, 2025.
According to authorities, Dorreon Miller, 20; Hyovannie Gonzalez-Declet, 19; Marcus Culclasure, 21; Joseph Lancella, 19; and Shirron Jones-Allen, 17, have all been charged with first-degree murder and related offenses. Notably, Jones-Allen is being charged as an adult.
Four of the defendants have been apprehended and remain in custody without bail as they await preliminary hearings, which will be scheduled at a later date. Gonzalez-Declet, however, has not yet been located. Law enforcement officials are urging the public to provide information that may lead to his arrest.
District Attorney Christopher de Barrena-Sarobe called on Gonzalez-Declet to surrender, emphasizing that he has known ties to other states and warning that authorities are prepared to work with regional partners to ensure his capture. “Hyovannie Gonzalez-Declet should do the right thing and turn himself in to police,” de Barrena-Sarobe stated.
The investigation stems from an incident reported on June 29, when Coatesville Police responded to a stabbing at a residence on Virginia Avenue in Coatesville. Upon arrival, officers found Alex Camacho suffering from a severe stab wound down his backside. He was transported by Washington Hose EMS Company to Paoli Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
According to criminal complaints, surveillance footage from area cameras captured the defendants following Camacho and another individual from Harmony Street and Modena Alley to the Virginia Avenue residence. The footage shows Joseph Lancella allegedly drawing a large knife from his waistband. In the backyard of the residence, Camacho was reportedly held and beaten by the group before being fatally stabbed by Lancella. All suspects were seen fleeing the scene on foot immediately after the attack.
Coatesville Police Chief John Laufer III praised the collaborative effort that led to these arrests, acknowledging the work of local detectives as well as assistance from the Chester County Detectives, Maryland State Police, and other regional law enforcement agencies.
Assistant District Attorney Peter Johnsen has been assigned as lead prosecutor in this case.
Authorities continue to urge anyone with information about Hyovannie Gonzalez-Declet’s whereabouts or other details related to the incident to contact the City of Coatesville Police Department at 610-384-2300 or the Chester County Detectives at 610-344-6866.
All charges are allegations, and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
