Department of Justice

PHILADELPHIA, PA — Federal prosecutors have unveiled sweeping new charges against two Philadelphia men accused of orchestrating a series of violent armored truck robberies and attempted robberies across the region last year, in a case that authorities say involved repeated attacks on Brinks vehicles.

United States Attorney David Metcalf announced that Dante Shackleford, 26, and Mujahid Davis, 24, both of Philadelphia, were charged in a superseding indictment alleging their involvement in multiple incidents that targeted armored trucks transporting cash. The indictment charges both men with four counts of robbery interfering with interstate commerce, commonly known as Hobbs Act robbery.

In addition, Davis is charged with two counts, and Shackleford with one count, of allegedly using, carrying, and brandishing a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence.

Prosecutors allege the two men participated in a string of incidents spanning several months in 2025, including the July 2 robbery of a Brinks truck in Philadelphia; a July 15 attempted robbery of another Brinks truck in the city; a July 22 attempted robbery of a Brinks truck in Elkins Park; an August 12 robbery of a Brinks truck in Elkins Park; and an October 3 attempted robbery of a Brinks truck in Philadelphia. Investigators allege that both defendants, along with others, were involved in various combinations across the incidents.

If convicted on all counts, the defendants could face maximum sentences of life imprisonment. Davis could also face fines of up to $1,500,000, while Shackleford could face fines of up to $1,250,000.

The investigation was conducted by the FBI Philadelphia Violent Crimes Task Force in partnership with the Philadelphia Police Department and is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorneys Robert Eckert and Kwambina Coker.

Federal officials emphasized that the charges outlined in the superseding indictment are allegations, and that Shackleford and Davis are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
