PHILADELPHIA, PA — Federal authorities have indicted a Philadelphia man on charges of impersonating a federal officer and committing a robbery that allegedly took place earlier this summer in Northeast Philadelphia.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, 44-year-old Robert Rosado was charged in connection with a June 8, 2025 incident at an auto repair shop on the 6400 block of Harbison Avenue. The indictment alleges that Rosado entered the business and falsely identified himself as a federal immigration officer. He then allegedly restrained a female employee before stealing $1,000 from the shop.

If convicted, Rosado faces a maximum sentence of 23 years in prison and a $500,000 fine.

The case is being investigated by the FBI’s Philadelphia Violent Crimes Task Force in partnership with the Philadelphia Police Department. It is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Ashley N. Martin and Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Meghan A. Farley.

Authorities emphasized that the indictment represents accusations only. Rosado, like all defendants, is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
