CLAYMONT, DE — Delaware State Police are investigating an alleged armed robbery that occurred Thursday evening in the parking lot of a Food Lion in Claymont.
Authorities say the incident happened on August 28, 2025, at approximately 8:30 p.m. when troopers responded to the Food Lion located at 3609 Philadelphia Pike following reports of a robbery.
According to the preliminary investigation, the victim had arranged to meet an unknown man to complete a transaction through Facebook Marketplace. Police say the suspect tried on a watch during the exchange, then returned to his vehicle and allegedly displayed a handgun before fleeing the scene in a black SUV. The victim was not injured.

- Light-skinned Black male
- Believed to be in his late 20s to early 30s
