COATESVILLE, PA — Authorities are investigating a bomb threat reported at the CYWA Women with Children Shelter in Coatesville on the morning of Friday, May 16, 2025.
Police were dispatched to the shelter, located at 423 E. Lincoln Highway, at approximately 11:02 a.m. All occupants were safely evacuated as City of Coatesville detectives and K9 units from the Chester County Sheriff’s Department conducted an extensive search of the building. After three hours, no explosive devices were found.
Investigators have identified a female person of interest in connection with the threat. The inquiry remains active, and authorities are urging anyone with information about this incident to contact Detective Sergeant Brandon Harris at bharris@coatesville.org or 610-679-6041.
Officials remind the public that all suspects or persons of interest are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
