EMS Assault, Police Chase, and Theft Cases Reported in Avondale Area

AVONDALE, PA — Pennsylvania State Police reported a series of incidents across Chester County between Tuesday and Friday, including an alleged assault on EMS personnel, a drug-related arrest, and multiple theft investigations, according to authorities.

On Friday, March 21, at approximately 10:05 a.m., troopers responded to ChristianaCare Hospital, 1015 W Baltimore Pike in Penn Township, for a report of a disturbance involving emergency medical personnel. According to state police, a 42-year-old Wilmington woman allegedly attempted to strike EMS personnel multiple times while being transported. Police said charges were filed following the incident.

Later that day, at approximately 12:00 p.m., troopers attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a vehicle on the U.S. 1 southbound/SR 472 exit ramp in West Nottingham Township. According to investigators, the vehicle allegedly fled, leading to an ongoing investigation involving a 43-year-old Elkton, Maryland woman.

On Thursday, March 20, at approximately 1:55 a.m., troopers conducted a traffic stop on the block of E Christine Road in West Nottingham Township. Police reported that a 44-year-old New Castle man was allegedly found in possession of drugs, under the influence, and wanted on an active warrant. According to authorities, the man was taken into custody and charges are pending.

On Wednesday, March 19, at approximately 4:04 p.m., state police were notified of a retail theft at Walmart, 800 Commons Drive in Lower Oxford Township. According to investigators, surveillance footage allegedly showed a woman stealing merchandise valued at $771 earlier that day. Police said the investigation remains ongoing.

On Tuesday, March 18, at approximately 4:10 p.m., troopers responded to the PSP Avondale station lobby at 2 Moxley Lane in London Grove Township for a report of identity theft. According to state police, a 65-year-old Oxford man reported the incident, which remains under investigation.

Authorities indicated that several of the incidents remain active and under review.

All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
