WILMINGTON, DE — Wilmington Police have arrested an Elsmere man following the recovery of a stolen vehicle during a weekend traffic stop, authorities said.
According to the Wilmington Police Department, officers with the Uniformed Services Division were on patrol in the 2500 block of Washington Street on the morning of October 25, 2025, when they identified a vehicle that had been reported stolen.
Officers conducted a traffic stop in the 300 block of West 26th Street, where they took the driver, identified as 18-year-old Ailear Braxton of Elsmere, into custody without incident.
Following the arrest, police charged Braxton with one count of Receiving Stolen Property Over $1,500, along with several traffic violations.
He was arraigned before Justice of the Peace Court 11 and later released on $1,200 unsecured bail.
Authorities have not disclosed additional details about the origin of the stolen vehicle or whether further charges may be filed as the investigation continues.
All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
