Early-Morning Robbery at Claymont Dash In Spurs State Police Probe

CLAYMONT, DEDelaware State Police are investigating an alleged convenience store robbery that unfolded in the early morning hours Tuesday along Philadelphia Pike.

According to the Delaware State Police, troopers responded at approximately 2:40 a.m. on January 6 to a reported robbery at the Dash In convenience store located at 3700 Philadelphia Pike. Investigators said a man entered the business and acted as though he was armed while confronting a store employee.

Police allege the suspect demanded that the cash register be opened and fled the store with cash before running off in an unknown direction. Authorities said no injuries were reported during the incident.

The suspect was described as a man wearing all black clothing, along with a face mask and gloves. No additional identifying details were immediately available.

The Delaware State Police Criminal Investigations Unit continues to investigate the incident. Detectives are asking anyone who may have witnessed the alleged robbery or who has information that could assist the investigation to contact Detective R. Strecker at (302) 365-8413.
