WILMINGTON, DE — Wilmington Police announced the arrest of a 26-year-old man following an investigation into an alleged downtown robbery earlier this month.
Authorities report that officers from the Special Operations Division responded to the 600 block of North Market Street on November 7 at approximately 4:16 p.m. after receiving a report of a robbery. The case was assigned to Detective Ann Clark of the Criminal Investigations Division, who, through her ongoing inquiry, identified Jamal Thomas as a suspect and obtained warrants for his arrest.
According to police, members of the Uniformed Services Division located Thomas on November 15 at approximately 5:54 a.m. in the area of East 23rd and Carter Streets. Officers say he was taken into custody without incident.
Thomas has been charged with first-degree robbery. He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $60,000 cash-only bail.
Police emphasize that all charges are allegations, and a suspect, arrestee, or defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
