WYOMISSING, PA — Police responded to a range of incidents Sunday, March 29, including a drug-related traffic stop, an intoxicated pedestrian in the roadway, and a reported trespassing case, according to Wyomissing Police.
According to police, the first incident occurred at 12:13 a.m. on Route 422 near Route 12, where officers conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle allegedly traveling 72 mph in a 55 mph zone. The driver was issued a warning.
At 1:14 a.m. at 8th Avenue and Penn Avenue, police said a traffic stop was conducted for a vehicle with an inoperable rear tag light. According to authorities, a consent search was conducted and alleged narcotics were recovered. Police reported charges are pending.
At 1:46 a.m. on Penn Avenue, officers conducted another traffic stop for alleged equipment and moving violations, issuing a warning.
At 2:32 a.m. on Woodland Road, police conducted a welfare check and assisted a couple in locating a nearby hotel room.
At 7:57 a.m. near Spring Street and State Hill Road, officers responded to a 911 hang-up call and determined there was no emergency.
At 9:37 a.m. on Hill Avenue, police conducted a welfare check after a caller reported being unable to reach a family member. Officers made contact and found no issues.
At 10:16 a.m. on Wyomissing Hills Boulevard in Reading, police responded to a report of an unconscious male. EMS handled the incident, according to authorities.
At 11:13 a.m., police received a report involving a suspected theft of a driver’s license and credit card that allegedly occurred out of state. The complainant was advised to report the incident to local authorities in Florida.
Between 1:10 p.m. and 2:05 p.m., police processed multiple school bus violations across Old Mill Road, Warwick Drive, Park Road North, Penn Avenue, and Cambridge Avenue. Authorities reported a total of 15 violations were approved through the BusPatrol system.
At 2:45 p.m. and 2:50 p.m., officers responded to separate 911 hang-up calls on Park Road North and Paper Mill Road, both determined to be non-emergencies.
At 3:18 p.m. on Berkshire Boulevard, police responded to a report of a disorderly individual. Officers collected information and reported the individual left the area.
At 3:51 p.m. on Penn Avenue, officers responded to a reported trespassing incident. Police said the investigation remains ongoing.
At 3:59 p.m. on State Hill Road, police responded to a 911 open line and determined no assistance was needed.
At 4:06 p.m. on Berkshire Boulevard, officers responded to a burglar alarm that was canceled by a security company.
At 5:38 p.m. on State Hill Road, police investigated a reported theft that was later determined to be unfounded after officers confirmed the equipment belonged to another company.
At 5:45 p.m. on Penn Avenue near Route 222, officers responded to a report of a person walking in the roadway. Police said the individual was allegedly intoxicated and charges are pending.
Police reported an officer sustained a hand injury around 6:00 p.m. on Reading Boulevard in connection with that incident.
At 6:43 p.m. on Hill Avenue near 8th Avenue, officers assisted with traffic control for a disabled vehicle blocking a travel lane.
At 7:37 p.m. on North Wyomissing Boulevard, police conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle without headlights, issuing a warning.
At 7:39 p.m. on Timberline Drive, officers responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle and spoke with occupants before they left the area.
At 7:50 p.m. on Route 222 near Penn Avenue, police conducted a traffic stop for alleged speeding and expired registration, issuing a warning.
At 8:55 p.m. on Park Road North, officers responded to an automatic fire alarm, which was handled by the Wyomissing Fire Department.
Later in the evening, police conducted additional traffic stops on Penn Avenue and Route 222 for alleged speeding and lane violations, with warnings issued in each case.
All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
