WILMINGTON, DE — Wilmington Police have taken a 50-year-old man into custody on multiple gun and drug charges following an investigation into suspected narcotics activity in the city’s North Thatcher Street corridor.
According to the Wilmington Police Department, members of the Drug, Organized Crime, and Vice Division have been conducting an inquiry into alleged illegal drug sales in the 2600 block of North Thatcher Street. As part of that ongoing effort, officers made contact with Devin Wright on November 24, 2025, at approximately 12:55 p.m., and took him into custody without incident.
Following the arrest, officers executed a search warrant at a residence in the same block. Investigators report that they recovered a loaded .380-caliber handgun with an obliterated serial number, approximately 97.75 grams of heroin, and $822 in currency believed to be connected to illegal drug activity.
Wright has been charged with three counts of possession of a firearm or ammunition by a person prohibited, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number, possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver in a Tier 3 quantity, and possession of a controlled substance in a Tier 3 quantity.
He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $200,000 cash-only bail.
Police stress that all offenses referenced are allegations, and any suspect, arrestee, or defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
