WILMINGTON, DE — Wilmington Police have taken two men into custody following an investigation into alleged drug-related activities on the morning of May 20, 2025.
Officials reported that members of the Drug, Organized Crime, and Vice Division were conducting operations in the 1700 block of West 3rd Street around 9:40 a.m. when they observed two individuals engaging in suspected drug activity. Police identified the suspects as 36-year-old James Cooper and 52-year-old Jay Tabron. Both men were arrested without incident.
During the arrests, authorities recovered 3.74 grams of crack cocaine and 1.56 grams of heroin.
James Cooper is facing multiple charges, including possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver, possession of a controlled substance in a Tier 1 quantity, and possession of a controlled substance. He has been arraigned in the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas and is currently held at the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution, awaiting further proceedings.
Jay Tabron was charged with possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver. He has also been arraigned and remains at the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution, pending additional legal action.
Authorities remind the public that all suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
