Driver Accused of Fleeing Police After Traffic Stop

POTTSTOWN, PA — A North Coventry man was arrested February 23 in connection with an alleged incident last month on West Schuylkill Road, according to the North Coventry Police Department.

Police stated that at approximately 11:43 a.m. February 23, officers apprehended Rory Thomas McGuirk, 42, of North Coventry Township. Authorities said the arrest stems from an incident that occurred January 4 on the 300 block of West Schuylkill Road.

According to police, McGuirk is charged with fleeing or attempting to elude an officer, illegally operating a vehicle without a required ignition interlock device, reckless driving, and related traffic offenses.

Additional details about the circumstances of the January 4 incident were not released.

All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
