Downtown Wilmington Robbery: Bystander Helps Detain 14-Year-Old Suspect

WILMINGTON, DE — A 14-year-old male has been arrested in connection with a robbery that occurred Sunday evening in Wilmington, according to police.

Authorities said that on September 7, 2025, at approximately 6:29 p.m., officers responded to a report of a strong-arm robbery in the 700 block of North Market Street. Following the incident, both the victim and a bystander pursued one of the two suspects. The juvenile was detained until police arrived.

The juvenile was taken into custody without incident, and police confirmed the stolen property was returned to the victim. He has been charged with:

  • Robbery (Second Degree)
  • Conspiracy (Second Degree)

The suspect was arraigned in New Castle County Family Court and released on $8,000 unsecured bail.

Wilmington Police have not yet released further details regarding the second suspect. Authorities continue to investigate the case.

Officials emphasized that the charges remain allegations only. The juvenile, like any defendant, is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
