HARRISBURG, PA — A York County doctor has been charged with multiple offenses, including rape and sexual extortion, following allegations that he coerced methadone patients into sexual acts in exchange for continued access to drug treatment medications.

Dr. Christopher Davis, 63, who formerly served as medical director at Pyramid Healthcare Treatment Center, is accused of using his authority over patients seeking treatment for opioid addiction to commit these acts between 2022 and 2024. According to a grand jury investigation, Davis allegedly manipulated vulnerable female patients into providing sexual images or engaging in sexual acts, threatening to withhold medication if they refused.

“People seeking to better their lives through treatment should be celebrated and supported, not preyed upon and exploited,” Attorney General Dave Sunday remarked in a statement following the arrest. He condemned Davis for what he described as a betrayal of trust and responsibility.

Davis was taken into custody on Wednesday and faces charges including rape, sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault, sexual extortion, and indecent assault. Bail has been set at $1 million.

The case will be prosecuted by Senior Deputy Attorney General Robert Smulktis and Deputy Attorney General Christy Schlottman of the Drug Strike Force Section. Davis remains innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Further proceedings are expected as the investigation continues.
