Disturbance Call Leads to Alleged Handgun Threat in Early-Morning West Chester Incident

WEST CHESTER, PAWest Chester Police arrested a 44-year-old borough resident earlier this month after officers responded to a reported disturbance and determined that two people had allegedly been threatened with a handgun.

According to the West Chester Police Department, officers were dispatched at approximately 2:00 a.m. on November 15, 2025, to the area of Miner Street and Bradford Avenue. When officers arrived, they initiated an investigation into the reported altercation.

Police say the inquiry led to the arrest of Robert Coldwell Jr., described as a 44-year-old white male from West Chester. Coldwell is accused of threatening two occupants of a vehicle with a handgun during the incident. He was taken into custody and charged with possessing instruments of crime and simple assault. A preliminary hearing is pending in District Court 15-1-01.

Authorities emphasize that all charges are allegations, and any suspect, arrestee, or defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
