NEWARK, DE — Delaware State Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred late Wednesday night at a Newark motel after a woman arranged to meet a man she had met online.
According to authorities, the incident took place on October 15, 2025, at approximately 11:15 p.m. Troopers responded to the Motel 6 located at 100 McIntosh Plaza after receiving a report of a robbery.
Preliminary findings indicate that the victim met with a man at the motel as planned. Moments later, a second man arrived and allegedly brandished a handgun. The two suspects reportedly demanded money and personal belongings from the victim before fleeing the scene. Police confirmed that the victim was not injured during the encounter.
Investigators described the suspects as Black males who fled eastbound on Christiana Road in a dark-colored sedan. Detectives with the Delaware State Police Troop 2 Robbery Unit are actively investigating the case.
