Delaware State Police Investigate Armed Robbery in New Castle Warehouse Parking Lot

NEW CASTLE, DEDelaware State Police are investigating a robbery that occurred Friday evening in New Castle after an alleged meeting to exchange electronic items turned violent, leaving one man injured.

According to investigators, troopers were dispatched around 6:00 p.m. on October 24, 2025, to a warehouse complex located in the 2400 block of Bear Corbitt Road following reports of an assault and attempted robbery.

A preliminary investigation revealed that a 25-year-old Newark man had arranged to sell a pair of Apple AirPods and an Apple iWatch to an unknown buyer after communicating with the individual through text messages. The two agreed to meet in the parking lot of the warehouse complex for the transaction.

Police said the suspect arrived in a dark-colored SUV and exited from the passenger side before allegedly attempting to forcibly take the items from the victim. During the confrontation, the suspect reportedly displayed what appeared to be a handgun and struck the victim multiple times in the back of the head. The suspect then fled the scene without obtaining the items.

Emergency Medical Services transported the victim to a nearby hospital, where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect is described as a Black male, approximately 24 to 25 years old, about 5 feet 7 inches tall, with curly black hair and an unshaven face. He was last seen wearing dark clothing.

The Delaware State Police Troop 2 Robbery Unit is continuing its investigation. Authorities are urging anyone with information about the suspect or who witnessed the incident to contact Detective J. Dempsey at (302) 365-8472. Tips can also be submitted anonymously to Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-847-3333.

All suspects and persons of interest are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
