Deadly Dawn Shooting Leaves 19-Year-Old Dead on Wilmington Street

WILMINGTON, DE — A pre-dawn shooting in the city’s Southbridge section turned deadly Friday, leaving a 19-year-old man dead as investigators worked to determine what led to the violence.

According to the Wilmington Police Department, officers were dispatched at approximately 3:31 a.m. to the 200 block of South Claymont Street after reports of gunfire. When police arrived, they located a 19-year-old male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

No suspect information has been released, and authorities have not disclosed what may have prompted the shooting. The case remains under active investigation, with detectives continuing to collect evidence and interview potential witnesses.
