Crashes, Fraud Reports, and Missing Juvenile Mark Busy Day

WYOMISSING, PA — Police responded to a wide range of incidents across Wyomissing on Thursday, including crashes, fraud reports, and a missing juvenile investigation, according to authorities.

According to Wyomissing Police, officers assisted West Reading Police at approximately 1:54 a.m. along Penn Avenue with transporting a juvenile home.

Police reported a burglar alarm activation at approximately 7:35 a.m. on Van Steffy Avenue, which was determined to be accidental after contact with the homeowner.

At approximately 8:30 a.m., officers responded to a 911 hang-up on State Hill Road, where it was confirmed there was no emergency.

Authorities said officers were dispatched around 8:32 a.m. to Route 422 near the south ramp for a reported crash with unknown injuries, but the incident was later determined to be unfounded after a phone was recovered and returned to its owner.

At approximately 10:35 a.m., police responded to Penn Avenue for a reported theft, but determined the matter to be civil in nature.

Police reported responding to suspicious activity on Spring Street around 10:48 a.m., where information was gathered related to a prior incident.

A two-vehicle crash was reported at approximately 12:08 p.m. at State Hill and Vista roads, where police said one vehicle rear-ended another. No injuries or towing were reported.

Officers responded to another 911 hang-up at approximately 12:21 p.m. on Evans Avenue, where no issues were found.

At approximately 1:16 p.m., police conducted a traffic stop at State Hill Road and Spring Street for a window tint violation, issuing a warning to the driver.

Police said they responded to a disorderly conduct call around 1:55 p.m. on Cambridge Avenue involving an individual riding a skateboard on private property. The situation was resolved without further action.

Another 911 hang-up was reported at approximately 2:16 p.m. on Penn Avenue, where officers determined the call was accidental.

At approximately 3:10 p.m., officers handled a soliciting complaint on Museum Road and gathered information from the reporting party.

Police reported responding to a medical assist at approximately 4:12 p.m. on Route 222 near State Hill Road, where a patient was transported by ambulance and the vehicle was secured.

At approximately 4:34 p.m., officers were dispatched to a reported fraud incident on Lauers Lane, though the caller canceled police services before arrival.

A two-vehicle crash occurred at approximately 5:05 p.m. at Woodland and Paper Mill roads when one vehicle struck another while merging. No injuries were reported.

Police also addressed a parking complaint around 4:35 p.m. at High Road and Old Mill Road, where multiple vehicles were cited.

At approximately 6:06 p.m., officers responded to a report of a vehicle fire near Route 222 and Route 12, but the vehicle was gone upon arrival.

Police said a property damage complaint was reported around 6:09 p.m. on State Hill Road, where a customer allegedly damaged equipment by vacuuming paint into a machine.

At approximately 6:30 p.m., officers investigated a reported scam on Lincoln Avenue and gathered information from the victim.

Police conducted a traffic stop at approximately 6:53 p.m. near Woodland Road and a Route 222 ramp for expired registration and inspection, issuing a citation.

At approximately 7:03 p.m., officers responded to a report of a missing juvenile on State Hill Road, where police confirmed the juvenile was missing and had an active bench warrant.

Another traffic stop occurred around 7:05 p.m. at Woodland and Paper Mill roads for an improper turn, resulting in a warning.

Police reported a walk-in complaint at approximately 3:52 p.m. regarding a broken window on Crossing Drive, but video review showed no indication the damage occurred at that location.

At approximately 8:09 p.m., officers conducted a welfare check on Berkshire Boulevard and determined the individual was safe.

Police responded to a burglar alarm at approximately 9:21 p.m. on Leisure Court, which was determined to be false.

A final traffic stop occurred at approximately 9:39 p.m. at Penn Avenue and 8th Avenue for a headlight malfunction, with a warning issued to the driver.

All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
