WILMINGTON, DE — Wilmington Police have charged a 23-year-old man following a drug-related arrest last week.
On September 4, just before 11 a.m., officers with the Drug, Organized Crime, and Vice Division were conducting operations in the 1700 block of West 3rd Street. Investigators reported observing suspected narcotics activity involving a male subject.
Police identified the individual as Jakere Jones. Authorities say Jones was taken into custody without incident. According to investigators, he was found carrying 6.76 grams of crack cocaine and 0.12 grams of heroin.
Jones faces multiple felony counts, including two charges of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, as well as possession of a controlled substance in a Tier 1 quantity.
He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 20 and remanded to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $22,000 secured bail.
All charges are allegations. A suspect, arrestee, or defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
