Coordinated Police Effort Leads to Arrests After Vehicle Chase in Marple Township

BROOMALL, PA — Four individuals were taken into custody after Marple Township Police and multiple neighboring departments coordinated a response to a stolen vehicle alert in the early hours of Friday, September 19, 2025.

According to police, at approximately 3:13 a.m., automated license plate cameras detected a stolen vehicle traveling westbound on West Chester Pike near Veterans Boulevard. Officer Mark Christake soon located the vehicle on Brookthorpe Circle, where several individuals dressed in dark clothing were reportedly seen pulling on car door handles.

While Christake monitored the situation and radioed for support, a Newtown Township officer deployed a tire deflation device. When Christake approached, the vehicle fled, striking the deflation device and continuing onto West Chester Pike with officers in pursuit. The chase ended near Media Line Road, where two occupants fled on foot while two others were detained without incident.

A search of the surrounding area followed, with Christake deploying a drone to assist from above. The two remaining suspects were eventually located and apprehended near the Evergreen Club Apartments with help from officers with the Haverford and Springfield Township Police Departments.

Marple Township officials commended the cooperative effort, highlighting the work of Officers Christake and T.J. Reynolds, along with Sergeant Mike Rush. Agencies from Newtown, Springfield, Haverford, Radnor, Upper Providence, and Nether Providence townships, as well as the Pennsylvania State Police, assisted in the operation.

All charges stemming from this incident remain allegations. A suspect, arrestee, or defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
