HUNTINGDON VALLEY, PA — A 47-year-old contractor is facing fraud-related charges after police said he allegedly accepted a deposit for roof repairs and failed to begin the work.

According to the Lower Moreland Township Police Department, a victim reported October 31, 2025, that they had hired Phillip Yeatts, 47, in August 2025 to repair the roof of a home on Red Lion Road.

Police stated that Yeatts allegedly required a deposit equal to half the quoted price. The victim issued a check payable to Yeatts Roofing LLC, which was cashed August 21, 2025, according to authorities.

Investigators allege that Yeatts failed to start the project as agreed and eventually stopped communicating with the victim. Police said the victim demanded the return of the deposit, but the contractor did not comply.

An arrest warrant was obtained for Yeatts, authorities said.

On February 27, 2026, Yeatts voluntarily surrendered to Lower Moreland police. While in custody, police discovered that Yeatts had an outstanding warrant in another state related to similar alleged conduct.

Yeatts is charged with false statement to induce agreement for home improvement services, receiving advance payment for services and failing to perform, theft by deception, theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property and related conspiracy offenses. He is also charged with arrest prior to requisition in connection with the out-of-state warrant.
