Coatesville Police Hunt Woman Accused of Cashing $7,000 Fake Treasury Check

COATESVILLE, PA — Authorities in Coatesville are investigating a case involving a fraudulent $7,000 U.S. Treasury check that was cashed at a local check-cashing business on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, around noon.

According to the Coatesville Police Department, the suspect—a woman whose identity remains unknown—allegedly presented a counterfeit out-of-state driver’s license to complete the transaction. The incident took place at a check-cashing establishment within city limits.

Detective-Sergeant Brandon L. Harris is leading the investigation. Police are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect. Anyone with relevant information is encouraged to contact Det./Sgt. Harris at 610-679-6041.
