Claymont Man Arrested After Alleged Attempt to Enter Vehicles at Naamans Apartments

CLAYMONT, DE — A Claymont man has been arrested after police responded to reports of a person attempting to open car doors in a local apartment complex early Friday morning, according to the New Castle County Division of Police.

Authorities said that at approximately 2:08 a.m. on October 24, 2025, patrol officers were dispatched to the Naamans Apartments community following a call about a man seen going car to car and trying door handles. Officers arrived quickly and located the individual, later identified as 35-year-old Terrence Freeman of Claymont.

Following the investigation, Freeman was arrested and charged with four counts of attempted third-degree burglary and one count of loitering. Police allege he was attempting to enter parked vehicles in the area.

Freeman was arraigned before Justice of the Peace Court 2 and held in lieu of $6,000 secured bail.

Authorities did not report any property damage or stolen items in connection with the incident.

All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
