HARRISBURG, PA — Stanley David Burden, 54, of Aliquippa, has been sentenced to 20 to 40 years in prison for repeatedly sexually assaulting a child, following his guilty plea to multiple felony charges. The sentencing took place on Tuesday, May 27, in Beaver County Court, where Burden was also designated a “sexually violent predator.”
Burden pleaded guilty to charges including rape of a child, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, aggravated indecent assault of a child, and related offenses. After serving his prison term, he will face five years of probation and must register as a lifetime sex offender.
“Protecting children is a core mission of the Office of Attorney General that was carried out admirably by our investigative team,” said Attorney General Dave Sunday. “Thanks to the courage of the brave survivor, this predator will not be able to harm another child and will serve decades in prison for his despicable acts.”
The case began with a Cyber Tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in Lawrence County, which indicated Burden was in possession of child sexual abuse material. This tip led to an investigation that uncovered Burden’s crimes, including repeated sexual abuse of a minor at a Beaver County campground. The victim disclosed that Burden had told them not to report the abuse.
Further charges were brought against Burden in Lawrence County, where he pleaded guilty to additional offenses, including the production and possession of child sexual abuse material and criminal use of a communication facility. His sentencing in those cases is still pending.
The prosecution of the Beaver County case was led by Deputy Attorney General Alison Bragle of the Child Predator Section within the Office of Attorney General.
