Caregiver Accused of Theft After Jewelry Goes Missing

BIRDSBORO, PA — A 19-year-old woman is facing theft-related charges after police said jewelry was reported missing from a residence where she had been providing care.

According to Robeson Township Police, officers were dispatched March 24 to Superior Road in Birdsboro for a reported theft.

Police reported that during the investigation, officers learned the suspect, identified as Krystena Arroyo, had been providing in-home assistance at the residence while the victim was away.

According to investigators, the victim returned home and discovered multiple pieces of jewelry missing and a jewelry box disturbed. Police said Arroyo later returned two rings, but several additional rings and necklaces remain unaccounted for.

Authorities said Arroyo has been charged with theft by unlawful taking—movable property and receiving stolen property.

All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
