Busy Two-Day Police Blotter Reveals Domestic Incident, Arrest, and Crashes

WYOMISSING, PA — Police responded to a wide range of incidents across Wyomissing and surrounding areas on March 17 and 18, including a reported domestic incident involving an arrest, multiple crashes, and several public safety calls.

According to the Wyomissing Police Department, officers were first dispatched at 12:59 a.m. on March 17 to the 100 block of Penn Avenue for a disorderly conduct complaint involving a male loitering at a business. Police reported the individual was trespassed from the property.

At approximately 5:58 a.m., officers responded to Lincoln Court near Logan Avenue for a road hazard. Police said a fallen branch blocking the roadway was removed, clearing traffic.

Police reported a motor vehicle crash with injuries around 8:34 a.m. on Route 222 near a ramp. According to officers, one driver was transported to a hospital by EMS and the vehicle was towed from the scene.

At 9:30 a.m., police said a walk-in complaint was received regarding a suspected fake identification card in the Meadow Glen area. No further action was taken.

Later that morning and into the afternoon, officers responded to multiple alarm calls on Crossing Drive and Berkshire Boulevard, both of which were determined to be accidental, according to police.

Police also reported a traffic stop at 11:26 a.m. on Wyomissing Boulevard near Orchard Road for a registration issue, which resulted in a warning. Another stop at 3:02 p.m. on State Hill Road resulted in a citation for a red light violation.

At 3:30 p.m., officers documented a fraud report on Squire Court involving a text message scam related to a credit card account. Police said no money was lost and the complainant was advised on how to avoid future scams.

A domestic-related report was logged at 7:50 p.m. on East Park Road in West Lawn, involving a past incident, according to police.

Later that night, at approximately 10:43 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 100 block of Park Road North for a domestic incident in progress. Police said a victim reported threats and an assault, and a male was taken into custody. Protection From Abuse paperwork was provided.

On March 18, police responded at 2:09 a.m. to Terrace Avenue for a mental health-related call. According to officers, the individual was transported to a hospital by EMS.

At 12:29 p.m., police reported a hit-and-run crash on Woodland Road near Ridgewood Road. The striking vehicle fled the scene and remains unidentified, according to investigators.

Officers also responded to a separate crash on Berkshire Boulevard at 12:43 p.m., where two vehicles collided in a parking lot. Police said minor damage was reported and information was exchanged.

At 12:59 p.m., officers were dispatched to Knitting Mills Way for an unwanted subject, but police said the individual had left prior to arrival.

Throughout the afternoon and evening, police conducted aggressive driving enforcement details across the borough, issuing multiple citations and warnings, according to reports.

At 4:48 p.m., a traffic stop on Museum Road near Wyomissing Boulevard led to the discovery of a driver with a suspended registration who was also wanted on a warrant. Police said the individual was taken into custody and charges are pending related to narcotics recovered under Act 64.

Police also responded to multiple burglar alarm activations and several 911 hang-up calls across the borough, all of which were determined to be false alarms or required no further action.

At 6:45 p.m., officers assisted Shillington Police with a barricaded subject on Sterley Street. According to police, a male was taken into custody and transported to Reading Hospital.

Additional incidents included welfare checks, parking complaints, and traffic violations, including citations for equipment issues and roadway obstructions.

All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
