WYOMISSING, PA — Police handled dozens of incidents across Wyomissing and nearby areas on March 20 and 21, including a DUI-related crash with injuries, multiple motor vehicle accidents, and a domestic disturbance, according to authorities.
According to the Wyomissing Police Department, officers responded at 3:29 a.m. on March 20 to Berkshire Court for a report of a disorderly male at a hotel. Police reported the individual was nonverbal and uncooperative and was transported home.
At 5:48 a.m., officers were dispatched to Woodland Road for a verbal domestic incident. Police said no further action was reported.
Police responded to multiple traffic violations throughout the day on March 20, including stops on Penn Avenue, State Hill Road, and Park Road North for offenses such as speeding, equipment violations, and improper lane changes. According to officers, several drivers were cited or warned.
At 10:35 a.m., officers responded to Route 222 near Crossing Drive for a two-vehicle crash. Police reported no injuries and no vehicles required towing.
At 12:04 p.m., police received a report of a reckless driver on Route 222 near Crossing Drive. Officers said the vehicle was gone on arrival.
Police also responded to multiple alarm activations and 911 hang-up calls across the borough, including incidents on State Hill Road, South Hampton Drive, and Bern Road, all of which were determined to be false alarms or accidental calls.
On March 21, officers began the day with additional traffic enforcement, including stops on Penn Avenue shortly after midnight. Police reported one driver was cited for driving with a suspended license.
At 10:08 a.m., police responded to Berkshire Boulevard for a two-vehicle crash. According to officers, no injuries were reported.
A separate crash at 11:18 a.m. on State Hill Road near Valley Road also resulted in no injuries, police said.
At 2:16 p.m., officers responded to State Hill Road near Berkshire Square for a crash involving injuries. Police reported one driver was transported to a hospital by EMS.
At 3:21 p.m., police documented a fraud report on Cambridge Avenue involving a scam. Information was taken, according to authorities.
Throughout the evening, officers conducted numerous traffic stops across the borough, issuing warnings and citations for violations including speeding, improper turns, equipment issues, and registration violations.
At 11:16 p.m., officers responded to Route 222 near a ramp for a crash involving two vehicles. Police reported two individuals were transported to Reading Hospital, and one female was taken into custody and charged with driving under the influence.
Police also responded to additional calls including a welfare check along Route 422, a noise complaint on State Hill Road, and a report of a reckless driver that had already left the area.
All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
