WILMINGTON, DE — Wilmington police arrested a Dover woman Tuesday evening following a reported burglary in progress that prompted a rapid response and neighborhood search, authorities said.
According to the Wilmington Police Department, officers from the Uniformed Services Division were dispatched around 6:40 p.m. on December 17 to the 600 block of North Walnut Street after receiving a report of a burglary in progress. Upon arriving at the scene, officers gathered descriptions of two alleged suspects and broadcast that information to units searching the surrounding area.
Police said that a short time later, officers spotted a woman matching one of the suspect descriptions near the intersection of East 9th Street and Guyer Avenue. Officers made contact with the individual, identified as 32-year-old Ivory Duckery, and took her into custody without incident.
Following the arrest, Duckery was charged with attempted burglary in the third degree, conspiracy in the second degree, and criminal mischief under $1,000. She was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and released pending further court proceedings, police said.
Authorities have not released additional details about the reported burglary or the status of the second alleged suspect. The investigation remains ongoing.
All charges are allegations. Any suspect, arrestee, or defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
